I have a bagful of books and am looking forward to reading them all. Met the lovely author of 'Arranged Love'(Parul Mittal) and am enjoying Suhaani's witty dialogues along with her interactions with Tanu Di and Deepak. 'Only Time Will Tell'- The Clifton Chronicles Vol One, by Jeffrey Archer is next in line and also is another very interesting book by Bi Feiyu 'Three Sisters'.

I met a lovely author a few days ago; Nandita Bose is her name and I am reading her book- 'Tread Softly.' The opening sentence on the acknowledgements page speaks to my heart, 'Only fools believe in love stories' :) Nandita, I do.

Absolutely LOVE My Name Is Red! It was i think the first book where i've truly enjoyed the shifting of narrator across characters. Am currently deeply immersed in Hilary Mantel's Bringing Up the Bodies. About Cromwell and The Tudors.

There is nothing better than a mug of strong tea by your side and the feel of a book in your hand. I have Paulo Coelho's book 'The Devil and Miss Prym' in front of me and I can't wait to start reading it. Will keep you posted on my progress...happy reading

I just finished reading The Great Gatsby today. Excellent book. It started off a little slow, but before you know it, the book has grabbed on to your heart. I am SO glad I finally got around to reading this book. .. As for On the Road. Too big a clue, Mz. You almost got away with it, but I know it's you.
Shloka says:Mar 29, 2012
@ Lekha, ^_^ I really can't pick any one of them. That's why they make it to my favorite list. :) But, still, if it had to be just one, I guess it would be Catch-22. I really like the way it's told, and it's like it touches on everything that is important to us as humans. From love to loss to eternal despair to the endless hunt for salvation.

Sounds interesting Ruchi! I just finished what I had started a while back. Madame Tussaud is a fantastic read - a personal and very different perspective on the French Revolution and the probable lies that we were made to study in history...

Just finished reading "The Spoiler" by Annalena Mcafee and its fantastic satyr on how time has moved on and the journalists are still standing at the same spot!

Hey I love this...if all I had to do ever in my life was snuggle up with a book and do nothing else I'd be happy! :) I've just started a book called The Historian, a historical mystery that recreates a terrible Dracula....reading it breathlessly!!

A big thank you to Rimly, Melissa and Ruchi for sharing their favorite books at the beginning of this discussion. Guys, we would love it if you added a few more books to our collection.

wow Yoshay, your choice of books is as enigmatic as you. I am building a library of good books with the help of all social potpourrians here.Thank you for helping me make the SP Library :)
Kriti says:Jan 19, 2012
Sulekha - you know I am a reader based on my mood - hence I read many books at the same time. I gave My Name is Red a break and am now reading Madame Tussaud by my one and only Michelle Moran. It is very very good if you like historical romances... My name is Red is going great too... David - that sounds pretty serious : ). Let us know how it goes ok... That's something that my husband would love to read I am sure : )))

I'm reading The Dogs of Riga written by Henning Mankell, it's the 2nd book in a Swedish crime series. The series came highly recommended and so far so good...Only 8 more books to read :)
sulekha says:Jan 18, 2012
Nikhlaish, After reading your comment, I am tempted to head out and buy this book by Stephen R Covey. It sure has made an impression on you. Thanks for sharing.
sulekha says:Jan 18, 2012
Kriti, What is the story like, so far :)
Yoshay says:Jan 18, 2012
Just about to finish The Thirteenth Tale by Dianne Setterfield - Poignant and disturbing at the same time. Setterfield's debut novel is all set to unnerve you with her aesthetically pleasing tone. Definitely going to be one of my favourite books since The Little Stranger by Sarah Waters. Next book in line is The Woman in Black by Susan Hill.
Nikhlaish says:Jan 18, 2012
Hey I am reading " The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People" By " Stephen R. Covey".This is one of the greatest books ever written to help people like me find their way in the world. Before this book, I read lots of self-improvement books, but none of them inspired lasting change. This book makes sense and helped me tie all the information I had gathered together and made it stick. I have read all of Dr. Covey's books and follow his recommendations as much as possible.
Kriti Mukherjee says:Jan 18, 2012
Hey I am reading My Name is Red too - Just started it but it has promise. Will let the different stages of my progress as I go along : )
