| I guess the answer to it is simple...for me writing is like therapy. In today's timebound driven world its becoming more important to be heard to be listened to and for me writing does that and I feel its a great medium to express whats germinating in your mind. Its another way of looking out for people who share similar opinions. |

| That word "driven" is the answer to the question :) I write to make sense of my world, to string the happiness together, to cut up grief into manageable pieces, to cup the memories better, to make sure I live mindfully. Because there is no other alternative for me |

| I have seen that the people who do not know their creative expression yet, also indulge in it. Look around yourself, you too will see a lot of people indulging in gossip. I think, gossip is very creative most of the time, even excessively creative, at times.
I often wonder, what would happen if people start writing all that they say. Don't you think that the markets would be flooded with a lot more colorful and interesting books? |

| I have been a writer almost all my life. I have written as a hobby and also as a profession. I think, it is just another way of creative expression. Each and every person has a need for a creative expression, whether they realize it or not. If people find their own individual creative expression, it is just great. The sad part is that most do not.

| I try not to let writing affect my everyday life, but it does. Writing, consumes, it challenges, it throws my life out of gear and makes everyday interesting and worth living. |

| Writers I think are driven to writing because they, like you said, have this tremendous urge to tell a story. They write because that is the only thing that makes their incomplete selves complete. They write because they are driven with a frenzy to satiate their hunger for baring a truth encased within a tale. Writers write because that is the best thing and the only thing they can do. |

| Kriti - I agree with you one hundred percent. I write for this and so many other reasons, one of them is to remain sane :) |

| Apart from many reasons - I think hidden somewhere is a need to put the drowning feelings out there - whether bad or good - there is a need to be accepted or not... to read thoughts instead of suppress them. |
